LG Electronics USA, Inc. (“LGEUS”, “we”, “our” or “us”) [111 Sylvan Avenue Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632] respects your concerns about privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we collect through our apps and websites where it is posted (collectively, “Services”). 

In this Privacy Policy, we describe the types of personal information we collect through our Services, how we may use that information, how long we may keep the information, with whom we may share the information, the choices and rights available to you, and how to contact us about our privacy practices.

Direct Collection. By using the Services you may directly provide us with information. For example, you may click on buttons or enter text on the Services. 

Automatic Collection. By using the Services you may automatically provide us with information from your device(s). 

Third Parties. We may also obtain information about you from our corporate affiliates and subsidiaries, third-party marketing, database, analytics partners, social media networks, or service providers. 

 

2. The Information We Collect 

As a general matter, we collect information that may help us in providing you with the current Services and provide you with future products and services. 

Basic Identifiers. We may collect basic identifying information about who our customers or visitors are. For example, we may collect information about (a) the person (e.g., first name, last name, date of birth), (b) contact details (e.g., e-mail address, phone number, postal address), (c) account details (e.g., username, password), (d) device details (e.g., device model name, OS version, UUID, IMEI, Carrier, Country, log files, Internet Protocol (IP) address), (e) connected device details (unique identification value, model number, manufacture number, software version info). Note that your address may also be considered your geolocation. Basic Identifiers may be collected directly, automatically or from third parties when you sign in with a third party account. 

Network Activity.We may collect information about your Internet and other network activity. For example, we may collect (a) Log information (e.g., usage information, such as, URL, redirected URL, performance timing, referrer, network type, network info, charge status, mobile ad identifiers, ad block info and cookies) and (b) service usage information (e.g., bookmarks, visit history and how you interact with the Services). We may collect this information directly or automatically. 

Commercial Information. We may collect payment information (e.g., credit card number, billing address) and your general purchase history. We may collect this information directly or automatically. 

Geolocation Information. We may collect geolocation information about your device. We may collect this information automatically. 

Audio-visual Information. We may collect audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, such as profile photos, voice recordings, video recordings, device diagnostic information, and information collected via device sensors. 

Personal Characteristics. We may collect characteristics about you (e.g., age, gender, marital status) from third parties so we can better understand who you are as a customer. 

Inferences about Trends and Preferences. Through the course of your interactions with the Service, we may create or collect inferences about you for purposes of creating a profile to understand you better, such as your basic preferences, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, aptitudes, or other characteristics. We may collect this information directly, automatically, or via third party marketing, database, or analytics partners. 

 

3. How We Use the Information We Collect  

As a general matter, we use the information we collect to help us in providing you with the Services, to improve our products and services, and provide you with future products and services. 

To create an account. We may use your basic identifiers and commercial information to create an account. 

To provide you with functionality. We may use your basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, geolocation information or audio-visual information to provide you with the services. 

To provide you with support. We may use your basic identifiers, commercial information, network activity, geolocation information or audio-visual information in order to provide you with customer service support for products and services. 

To serve you with advertisements and marketing. We may use your basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, geolocation information, personal characteristics or inferences to serve you with relevant advertisements, marketing and special offers. 

To complete a transaction. We may use your basic identifiers, network activity or commercial information in order to complete your requested purchase of goods or services, including monitoring the transaction for fraud. 

To communicate with you. We may use your basic identifiers, network activity or commercial information to communicate with you about our products, services, and special promotions. 

To compile statistics, insights or other internal functions. We may use basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, geolocation information, audio-visual information, personal characteristics or inferences to compile statistics and other analytics about users and/or the function and usage of the services. 

To comply with our legal obligations. We may use basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, geolocation information, personal characteristics or inferences to comply with any applicable legal obligations. 

 

4. Information Sharing 

In general, we may share all of the categories of information we collect within LGE group or with our external service providers in order to provide you with the current Services, to improve the Services, and provide you with future products and services, including all the purposes listed in the preceding “How We Use Information” section above. We do not sell your personal information. Our external service providers are restricted by contractual provisions in their ability to use your information for purposes other than providing the relevant services. In addition, we may share your information: 

To Provide Products or Services. We may share your basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, geolocation information and audio-visual information with our service providers, who help us provide you with products or services you request on the Service. Such service providers include customer management vendors, payment processors, and marketing vendors. We need to share information with these partners in order to process your order, fulfill your request, provide you with customer support, or provide other services or functions. We may also share with our parent company, subsidiaries, and affiliates in order to better serve you or maintain our business. 

To Provide You With Marketing and More Relevant Advertisements. In order to provide you with marketing and certain advertisements, including ads tailored to your interests based upon your information (“interest-based advertisements”), we may need to share certain information with partners who work with us and with other entities to place these ads. Interest-based advertisements may be displayed across different platforms, websites, and devices. 

To Improve Our Advertising. We may share your basic identifiers, network activity, commercial information, personal characteristics and inferences with service partners who assist us in placing and evaluating the effectiveness of our advertisements and marketing campaigns. 

For Legal Reasons. We may share all of the categories of information listed in the preceding “The Information We Collect” section with service partners or other outside entities as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, including compliance with any applicable law, legal process, or court order. We may also share information in order to protect and defend the rights of LGE, our users, or any other individual, to protect against fraudulent or malicious activity, to protect the safety of persons or property, to enforce our Terms & Conditions, or to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. 

For Other Internal Reasons. We may share all of the categories of information listed in the preceding “The Information We Collect” section with service partners and other entities that provide LGE with certain services or assist with internal functions, such as analyzing data, maintaining the security of our systems, or ensuring our compliance with the law. For example, we may share information with auditing firms, outside attorneys in order to obtain legal advice, or with other professional advisors. Other entities that may receive information for these purposes include information security vendors, data analytics firms, quality assurance assessors, and similar types of entities. We may also share with our parent company, subsidiaries, and affiliates in order to better serve you or maintain our business. 

Google Analytics / FireBase We may collect personal information about your online activities on websites and connected devices over time and across third-party websites, devices, apps and other online features and services. We may use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics and Firebase. In Connection with a Sale or Merger. If we directly or indirectly undergo a business transition (including proposed transactions), such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or part of our assets, we may share all of the above categories of information listed in the preceding “The Information We Collect” section to the successor or potential successor organization, as well as their professional advisors during the transition. 

When you otherwise consent to such disclosure. We may share certain information with service partners or other entities when you direct us to share (e.g., via the use of our share button) or otherwise consent to our sharing such information. 

 

OPERATOR PRIVACY POLICY: 

Whether you download, register with, or use the LG LaundryQ Mobile App, the information collected is transferred to the laundry facility operator (the “Operator”) and the Operator is in control of the information collected on this App. The Operator may collect, process, or use your information in accordance with its privacy policy and practices, which we encourage you to read before providing information through the App and can be located at http://thelaundryshop.com/policy.html. 

 

 

5. Retention of Personal Information 

We take appropriate steps to ensure that we process and retain information about you in accordance with the following principles: 

• at least for the duration for which the information is used to provide you with our Service; 

• as required under law, a contract, or with regard to our statutory obligations (e.g., tax laws); or 

• only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, is processed, or longer if required under any contract, by applicable law, or, in anonymized form, for statistical purposes, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We offer you certain choices in connection with the personal information we obtain from you via email, phone call, text messages or push notifications. To limit communications you receive from us, or to submit a request, please contact us using the information specified in the “Contact Us” section below. 

Our Services may offer you choices related to the collection, deletion and sharing of certain information and communications about products, services and promotions that are unique to specific Services. You can access the relevant settings of our Services to learn about choices that may be available to you in respect of that Service. If you decline to allow our Services to collect, store or share certain information, you may not be able to enjoy full use of all of the features available through our Services.

We take protection of your information seriously and maintain safeguards designed to protect the information we collect in connection with our Services. 

 

8. Personal Information of Children 

Our Services are designed for a general audience and are not directed towards children. In connection with our Services, we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 16. Additionally, we do not knowingly sell the personal information of children under the age of 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 16, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe that a child under the age of 16 may have provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information specified in the “Contact Us” section below. 

 

9. Updates to Our Privacy Policy 

We reserve the right to change this privacy policy from time to time in our sole discretion. When we do, we will also revise the "last update" date at the top of this privacy policy. If material changes are made to the privacy policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the Services or via email at the email address we have on file for you. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy policy to keep up to date on how we are handling your personal information.

You have the right to (a) know what personal information we collect about you (including the categories and specific pieces of information), how we use that information, to whom we disclose that information, and whether we sells that information to third parties, (b) to have us delete your personal information, (c) to opt out of any sale of your personal information, and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. 

We do not sell your personal information in connection with the Services.

In submitting a request, we may ask you to verify your identity so that we can protect you against fraudulent requests for your information. Thus, we may ask you to sign into your account, to provide information about your products, or provide other confirming information. 

California – Shine the Light. You have the right to be provided with a description of any categories of information that we have disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes and to know the identity of those third parties. California – Eraser Law. If you are a California resident under the age of 18 and are a registered user of the Services, then you may request that we remove any submission you publicly posted on or in the Services. To request removal of a submission, please email a detailed description of the submission to [email protected]. You may also be able to log into your account and delete your own submission. We reserve the right to ask you to provide information that enables us to confirm that the submission in question was created and posted by you.
